Therapeutic experience
Integrative Relational Therapy
I have over 8 years experience as an integrative relational therapist in private practice. I believe in creating a safe and collaborative space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences together.
Many clients come to me when they find themselves in moments of transition, either between life stages, or in the liminal spaces of their understanding of themselves. They describe working with a therapeutic observing Other as healing, having a witness to this change.
I integrate various therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs, helping you navigate through challenges and find a sense of balance and well-being.
NHS
I have experience working with people aged 17+ in NHS primary care services (Talking Therapies) and with under 18`s in secondary care services (CAHMS). In addition to working as an NHS clinical supervisor, I am also qualified in NICE approved modalities CfD (Person centred counselling for depression) for mild to moderate depression and IPT (Interpersonal psychotherapy), a more structured, relational based therapy for moderate to severe depression. If you are interested in working using theses models, please contact me for more information.
Specialist services
I have worked for a number of specialist services, these include:
Working with young people: No 5
Working with the LGBT community: SupportU
Working with survivors of crimes- Victims First Service
I have held positions including main psychotherapist and support therapist for CDS, a specialist outpatient psychotherapy organisation which works with patients living with severe dissociative disorders, and their families..
My Approach
I adopt an integrative relational therapy approach, tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs and circumstances. I draw on training from Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Object relations approaches, and use the Clarkson relational model to inform my personalised therapeutic approach to each client.
I am guided by a holistic approach, as I believe that no one issue exists in a vacuum. I am also able to integrate creative ways of working, such as art, writing or music into our work, if you wish.
I aim to foster a collaborative and empathic working relationship to support you as you embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
I offer long and short term therapy. We can work towards a specific goal, on a particular life event, transition or relationship. Or, perhaps you would to take a more open ended approach to our work together.
My spectrum of experiences means I am able to assess, refer and advise on further treatment sources and services, where it is appropriate to do so.
My training resume:
Person Centred and Psychodynamic approaches- University of Central Lancashire
Clarkson Integrative 5 relational approach: CPCAB in Reading
Clinical Supervision: The Minster Centre
CfD: The Metanoia Institute
IPT: The Anna Freud Centre
MA in ACP: The Minster Centre (on going)
Beyond my roles as therapist and supervisor, I have held teacher and assessor positions on therapy courses. I am also involved in writing and research, and in running workshops and other profession based activities.
